CLC Light Weight Bricks Plant

Technology

Nanolite Cellular Lightweight Concrete Bricks are produced by adding millions of Micro-Sized air bubbles into a cement based blender mixer. The addition of millions of air bubbles is achieved by using a Proprietary Foam Generator to produce highly stable and injecting the Foam directly into a mixer containing Cement, Fly Ash or Sand & Water Slurry

The amount of Cement, Fly-Ash / Sand, Foam & Water included in the Light weight Cellular concrete mix design depends on the required properties (i.e. Density, Strength, Thermal Conductivity, ETC). The hardened material consists of small-enclosed air bubbles thereby resulting in a light weight stable cellular material with densities ranging from as low as 400kg/m3 to 1800Kg/m3

Concrete is then poured into assembled molds of bricks / blocks. The foam imparts free flowing characteristics to this slurry due to ball bearing effect of foam bubbles enabling it to flow easily  into all corners and compact by itself in the molds without requiring any kind of vibration or compaction.

Water Curing for 14 to 28 days gives good strength and dimensional stability to bricks. Because of great-Engineered properties NANOLITE Bricks have become popular in wide range of applications in construction sector.

Cellular Light Weight Concrete (CLC) is a version of lightweight concrete that is produced like normal concrete under ambient conditions. It is produced by initially making slurry of Cement, Fly Ash, and Water which is further mixed with the addition of pre-formed stable foam in a blender concrete mixer under ambient conditions

The amount of Cement, Fly-Ash, Foam & Water included in the Light Weight Cellular concrete mix design depends on the required properties (i.e. strength, thermal conductivity or durability). Also, depending on the required CLC density and variance, an appropriate mix design is selected
The hardened material consists of small-enclosed air bubbles thereby resulting in a light weight stable cellular material with densities ranging from as low 300 kg/m3 to 1800 Kg/m3

The mixture is either poured into assembled molds of blocks. The foam imparts free flowing characteristics to this slurry due to ball bearing effect of foam bubbles enabling it to easily flow into all corners and compact by itself in the molds without requiring any Kind of vibration or compaction

Good Curing gives good strength and dimensional stability to Bricks. Bricks are cured by Water Curing procedure for 14 – 28 days. Because of great-Engineered properties, NANOLITE Bricks have become popular in wide range of applications in construction sector

Cement: OPC 53 Grade

Fly Ash: Only from Thermal Power Plants
Note: Sand can be used if flyash not available

Foaming Agent: Protein Based

Water: Soft Water (TDS Less Than 500)

Foaming Agent is continuously available from Nanolite in whatever quantities required.

Densities range of CLC would be between 300 – 1800 kg/m3 which are used for various applications.

As per IS 2185 Part IV, Compressive strength Chart is as follows

Curing of the Bricks / Blocks is done by Water Curing Procedure for 14 to 28 days

Builders (Captive Use), Start-Up Companies, Clay Brick Manufacturers, Flyash Brick Manufacturers, Readymix Concrete Manufacturers, Tiles & Paver Blocks Manufacturers, Entrepreneurs

Clay Bricks:

Government is making all efforts to Ban / Stop Clay Bricks Manufacturing & Usage as it consumes Top Agricultural Soil.
Also the availability of soil is a problem. In a due course of time, an appropriate action will be taken. There’s no option of a new entrant into this field

AAC Blocks :

Plant Investment is very high and has to be imported either from Germany or China and the investment is generally between Rs. 20 Crores (China for 300m3Plant) & Rs. 50 Crores (Germany for 500m3 Plant). AAC Technology also has a serious problem with Water Absorption making several builders choose CLC as the best alternate. There are some companies in India, trying to set-up AAC Plants for as less as Rs. 50 Lakhs, They call it as AAC (It cannot be called as AAC without Autoclaved) but in general it can be called as “ALC” ( An Unrecognized Technology, which is not even in Indian Standards ) BEWARE.

CLC Bricks:

These Plants are generally suitable for Brick Manufacturers, Tile & Marble Manufacturers & Dealers, Builders, Entrepreneurs, etc etc as the investment is very less. Breakeven / ROI can be achieved in less than an year. All Raw Materials are easily available and the brick is widely accepted.
There’s a huge potential in CLC Technology. Its the time to Utilize the advantage of Demand & Supply Gap

CLC Brick / Block Manufacturing Plants can be started with a minimum production of 10m3 per day and the investment range starts from Rs 2.75 Lakhs (Excluding Trolleys & Molds)

Production Cost in India is generally between Rs. 1500 – 2000 per m3 and this depends upon the Prices of Raw Materials

Market Price throughout India is in between Rs. 3000 – 4000 per m3

Break-Even / ROI can be achieved as less as 5-6 Months at 100% Efficiency

Direct Cost Savings using CLC Light Weight Blocks are Reduction of Steel / Iron for Structural Foundation, Savings in Brick Mortar, Savings in Plastering & Labor Cost

In-Direct Advantages of CLC are in the form of Thermal Insulation, Sound Reduction & Less Water Absorption

400 – 600 kg/m3 : Insulation
800 – 1200 kg/m3 : Non-Load Bearing Walls
1400 – 1800 kg/m3 : Load Bearing Walls

Clay Bricks:

Government is making all efforts to Ban / Stop Clay Bricks Manufacturing & Usage as it consumes Top Agricultural Soil.
Also the availability of soil is a problem. In a due course of time, an appropriate action will be taken. There’s no option of a new entrant into this field

Fly-Ash Bricks (Fal-G Technology):

These bricks are much heavy in weight and require heavy structural foundation. Because of the heavy weight, labor problems are existent. There are several Fly Ash Bricks Plants all over india and because of the heavy competition, Fly Ash Bricks are already been sold at rock bottom price and it would be difficult for them to reduce price any more. There’s no much future left for new entrants

AAC Blocks:

Breakeven / ROI can be achieved in less than an year. All Raw Materials are easily available and the brick is widely accepted. There’s a huge potential in CLC Technology. Its the time to utilize the advantage of Demand & Supply Gap

Plants can be set up in all corners of India as CLC Bricks are widely accepted and Raw Materials are easily available.

Plant Size or Production Capacity generally depends upon the Market Location. It’s always better to start with Small or Medium Plant and later expand to a large scale.

Land, Power & Labor requirement depends upon the Plant Size / Production Capacity. The Minimum requirement’s are

Land – 1000 Sq. Yards
Power – 10HP (3 Phase)
Labor – 6 (Un-Skilled) & 1 (Skilled)

CLC Technology is widely accepted in more than 40 Countries.

CLC Technology is Approved by Indian Standards and comes under 2185 Part IV

Nanolite is well established in all corners of India and is already into Nepal & Srilanka. Nanolite will very soon establish CLC Plants in the Bhutan & Myanmar.
